About the role
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Senior HR Generalist to join our on-site team. This role will be critical in shaping the employee experience and supporting the full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training, and HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all on-site employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters
- Manage and support full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees
- Administer and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws (local, state, and federal)
- Support managers with performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans
- Address employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism, conducting investigations as needed
- Maintain and update HRIS and personnel files; ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping
- Aid in administering benefit programs and serve as liaison with insurance providers and brokers
- Develop and deliver employee training programs related to compliance, safety, DEI, and leadership development
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and HR strategy development
- Lead or support HR projects such as engagement surveys, retention initiatives, compensation reviews, and workforce planning
- Assist Chief People Officer with administrative support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Prowess in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or DTC environment is a plus
- Must be available to work on-site full-time in Traverse City, MI
