Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership, providing strategic counsel on how communication can shape and enable HR programs, decisions, and employee experience.
- Develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies for key HR programs and initiatives, including performance management, total rewards and benefits, talent development, organizational design, and employee engagement surveys.
- Translate complex HR policies, programs, and changes into clear, compelling, and accessible messaging for a diverse global workforce, including non-desk and manufacturing employees.
- Partner with the Head of Employee Communications to integrate HR communications into the broader channel mix, ensuring a balanced cadence across email, intranet (Inside Waters), town halls, digital signage, and other platforms.
- Serve as the dedicated communications partner supporting HR through the integration of BD Biosciences and Diagnostic Solutions, ensuring employees experience a smooth, transparent, and well-communicated transition.
- Develop communications around critical integration milestones, including HR systems transitions, organizational design changes, policy harmonization, and cultural integration initiatives.
- Support change management communications that build leadership capability, foster collaboration across legacy organizations, and drive conviction for the new Waters.
- Plan and execute day-to-day HR communication needs, managing editorial calendars and content workflows to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Document internal communication policies, procedures, and playbooks as lessons are learned.
- Define success metrics tied to business outcomes (e.g., adoption, engagement, retention) and continuously optimize communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in employee, HR, or internal communications, with demonstrated success developing and executing measurable, multi-channel strategies—ideally within a global organization undergoing transformation or integration.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align communication plans to corporate and HR priorities and tailor approaches to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling capabilities, with a proven ability to simplify complex information into clear, engaging messages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep understanding of diverse employee audiences, including global, non-desk, and newly integrated workforces.
- Proven ability to build effective partnerships and collaborate with HR leaders, business partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive messaging.
- Strong program management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex initiatives, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale organizational change and/or M&A integration communications is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of core HR programs, including performance management, total rewards, engagement surveys, and organizational design.
- An analytical and insight-driven mindset, with experience using employee feedback and sentiment to refine communication strategies.
- A proactive, problem-solving, and growth-oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritize and adapt quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with internal communications platforms, content management systems, and digital content creation tools is a plus.
- Experience in the life sciences, diagnostics, or healthcare industry is a plus.
