Senior Hospital Accountant Position

The Senior Hospital Accountant position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial documentation, budget analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Accurately documents all financial transactions and maintains the general ledger and asset management modules of the organization's accounting systems.
• Diligently reviews, interprets, and analyzes monthly budget versus actual revenue to proactively identify variances and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintains monthly and yearly audits/reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including tracking of construction in progress accounts.
• Affords assistance to department leadership in preparing reports and analyses for the organization's annual capital budget process.
• Accurately completes and files appropriate tax returns for the organization and its affiliates.
• Efficiently coordinates the Capital Review Committee and meticulously tracks all approved capital purchases.
• Prepares monthly financial presentations and conducts in-depth analysis prior to the monthly board meetings.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Three (3) years of public or hospital accounting experience required.
• Previous experience with healthcare auditing processes preferred.
• Working knowledge of general ledger and accrual basis of accounting.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and database management.
