Responsible for overseeing employees and directing operations of the Hearing Center and other areas of the warehouse. Addresses personnel issues and oversees tasks performed by employees. Participates in Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser duties. Responsible for understanding, teaching, and maintaining our culture, core values, and ethics. This is a full-time management/leadership position providing high-level member service.
Responsibilities
- Schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel.
- Reviews and approves area timecards.
- Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance appraisals.
- Oversees apprentices as required for certification qualification.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Oversees and participates in duties of Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser, including:
- Conducting testing and ear impressions safely and consistently.
- Completing hearing evaluations and making product recommendations.
- Taking ear impressions, ordering product, delivering, and programming hearing devices.
- Maintaining member’s digital files in the office management system.
- Ringing orders and collecting payment when necessary.
- Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service; responds to member concerns using problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion.
- Overrides and checks cash register codes; approves refunds.
- Mentors employees enrolled in the Hearing Aid Apprentice Program (HAAP), providing hands-on training aligned with the HAAP curriculum.
- Observes employee performance and paperwork to ensure adherence to department procedures and standards for scheduling, testing, fitting protocols, record keeping, merchandising, inventory control, product storage, and cash handling.
- Implements and upholds safety and security procedures; ensures all minimum licensing requirements are satisfied and maintained.
- Reviews department budget and financial statements; submits insurance payment records.
- Develops and implements plans for merchandising, productivity, profitability, and Hearing Aid benchmark performance.
- Approves and submits orders for equipment, product, and supplies.
- Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
- Upholds safety and security procedures, including identifying trip hazards, ensuring proper PPE, and maintaining department cleanliness.
- Performs off-site marketing to increase sales; travels by air and ground transportation, including some weekends, to assist other hearing aid departments.
- Ensures proper procedures for cleaning, infection control, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as needed.
- Assists with department duties and other warehouse departments as necessary.
Requirements
- Ability to mentor and train employees in the Hearing Aid Apprentice Program.
- Proficiency in conducting hearing evaluations, taking ear impressions, and programming hearing devices.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures.
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Open availability to meet business needs, apart from any religious or disability considerations.
- Authorization to work in the United States (proof required if hired).
