About the Role

Responsible for overseeing employees and directing operations of the Hearing Center and other areas of the warehouse. Addresses personnel issues and oversees tasks performed by employees. Participates in Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser duties. Provides high-level member service and ensures understanding, teaching, and maintenance of Costco’s culture, core values, and ethics. This is a full-time management/leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel.
  • Reviews and approves area timecards and participates in employee performance appraisals.
  • Oversees apprentices as required for certification qualification and attends staff meetings.
  • Oversees and participates in duties of a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser, including:
    • Conducting hearing evaluations and ear impressions safely.
    • Making product recommendations, ordering products, and delivering/programming hearing devices.
    • Maintaining member digital files in the office management system.
    • Ringing orders and collecting payment when necessary.
  • Provides and ensures prompt, courteous member service, responding to concerns with problem-solving skills.
  • Overrides cash register codes and approves refunds.
  • Mentors employees in the Hearing Aid Apprentice Program (HAAP), providing hands-on training aligned with the curriculum.
  • Observes employee performance to ensure adherence to department procedures and standards for scheduling, testing, fitting, record-keeping, merchandising, inventory, and cash handling.
  • Implements and upholds safety, security, and licensing requirements.
  • Reviews department budget and financial statements, submits insurance payment records, and develops plans for merchandising, productivity, and profitability.
  • Approves and submits orders for equipment, product, and supplies.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
  • Upholds safety and security procedures, including identifying hazards, ensuring PPE use, and maintaining department cleanliness.
  • Performs off-site marketing to increase sales, including travel by air and ground transportation, sometimes on weekends.
  • Ensures proper infection control, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as needed.
  • Assists with department duties and other warehouse departments as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser duties, including passing the ‘Ear Impression Certification Exam’.
  • Open availability to meet business needs (apart from religious or disability considerations).
  • Authorization to work in the United States (proof required if hired).
