Senior Health Planner
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Health Planner to join our growing Health practice at HDR. With over 50 years of experience, we are dedicated to providing innovative design solutions that enhance the health and wellbeing of our clients and communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits
- Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
- Prepare drawings and specification documents
- Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Understand healthcare trends and prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
- Aid in the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
- Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Be responsible for mentoring junior staff or other interested colleagues in health planning practices
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Health Architecture
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Health Planning
- Architectural registration
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
- Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of healthcare architecture planning and design
- Ability to make client presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Master's degree in Architecture
- Preferred 12 years' experience in Architecture
- Preferred 9 years’ experience in Health Planning
- Preferred Strong leadership and management skills
- Preferred Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
- Preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills
