About the role

We are seeking a Senior Health Planner to join our growing Health practice at HDR. With over 50 years of experience, HDR delivers award-winning integrated healthcare planning and design for leading medical centers and health systems worldwide. Our team uses evidence-based design methodologies to ensure that our projects meet the needs of both clinical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits
  • Engage in problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
  • Prepare drawings and specification documents
  • Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Understand healthcare trends and prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
  • Aid in coordinating all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
  • Assist in the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Health Architecture
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Health Planning
  • Architectural registration
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
  • Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of healthcare architecture planning and design
  • Ability to make client presentations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • Minimum 12 years related experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of buildings
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models
