Senior Health Planner
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Health Planner to join our growing Health practice at HDR. With over 50 years of experience, HDR delivers award-winning integrated healthcare planning and design for leading medical centers and health systems worldwide. Our team uses evidence-based design methodologies to ensure projects meet clinical, operational, and facility planning needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits
- Engage in problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
- Prepare drawings and specification documents
- Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Understand healthcare trends and prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
- Assist in coordinating all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Health Architecture
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Health Planning
- Architectural registration
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
- Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of healthcare architecture planning and design
- Ability to make client presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Master's degree in Architecture
- Preferred 12+ years related experience
- Preferred Strong organizational skills
- Preferred Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of buildings
- Preferred Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models
