Senior Health Planner
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Health Planner to join our growing Health practice at HDR. With over 50 years of experience, HDR is a leader in delivering award-winning integrated healthcare planning and design for top medical centers and health systems. Our team uses evidence-based design methodologies to ensure that our projects meet the needs of both clinical and operational aspects.
Responsibilities
- Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits
- Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
- Prepare drawings and specification documents
- Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Understand healthcare trends and prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives
- Aid in the coordination of all disciplines related to the building design and health planning
- Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
- Responsible for mentoring junior staff or other interested colleagues in health planning practices
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Health Architecture
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Health Planning
- Architectural registration
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam)
- Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of healthcare architecture planning and design
- Ability to make client presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Master's degree in Architecture
- Preferred 12 years' experience in Architecture
- Preferred 7 years’ experience in Health Planning
- Preferred Advanced credentials (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP etc.)

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
