Senior H&B Consulting Analyst
About the role
This role is based in Irvine and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. You will work closely with the team in the strategy, design, implementation, and administration of client companies’ health and welfare programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior consultants with reviewing client needs, recommending suitable approaches, and helping implement benefit program strategies
- Collect, analyze, and interpret health care data for reporting to the client
- Develop an awareness of the insurance vendor marketplace, plan designs, health care cost factors, and the renewal process for health and group benefit programs
- Cook up the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of a client
- Help write and structure client communications, including proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Coordinate with internal teams and subject matter experts, as well as develop relationships with clients
- Interact with carriers and vendors to gather quotes, negotiate, handle client service issues, and review plan documentation
Requirements
- 1-3 years of health industry or HR experience
- Ability to exercise independent thinking
- Ability to work at a fast pace, both independently and in a team environment
- Capacity to multitask, manage competing priorities with strong time management skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosity
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree
- Previous working experience with benefits
- Advanced Excel skills; VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Schedule
All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
