Senior Grant Accountant – Finance/Administration Workgroup

About the role

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. LAFLA is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Grant Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant accounting processes, including budget tracking, financial reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for grants, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP and donor guidelines.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of grant applications and proposals.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment between grant funding and program objectives.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of grant payments and disbursements.
• Monitor and manage grant expenditures to ensure they align with approved budgets.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on grant management and financial reporting procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders and other stakeholders to foster ongoing support and collaboration.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks or similar.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with federal and state grant administration preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with grant management software and systems.
• Understanding of legal aid organizations and their operations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Pay

$82,500k - $110,000k / annually DOE, with excellent benefits.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
