Senior Global Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develops commodity sourcing strategies to address supply market conditions, technology roadmaps, and product needs/forecasts.
• Primary owner for the supplier relationship; drives supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management in accordance with the commodity strategy.
• Drives global supply base consolidation analysis, planning, and implementation.
• Conducts and processes quote requests, including:
  • Coordinating clarifications with engineering
  • Analyzing quote responses
  • Conducting detailed cost analysis
  • Preparing sourcing recommendations
• Leads negotiations, including final pricing, and the establishment of supply contracts or agreements.
• Coordinates with site managers to identify supply needs and conduct sourcing analysis.
• Owns communication for contract data and volumes across global teams and supply base, as appropriate.
• Drives continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
• Leverages supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.
• Initiates and maintains internal and external communications regarding sourcing, pricing, and demand for materials.
• Performs other tasks, as required.

Requirements

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
• A minimum of five years of commodity purchasing experience.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Excellent knowledge of business mathematics.
• Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs.
