Responsibilities
- Develops commodity sourcing strategies to address supply market conditions, technology roadmaps, and product needs/forecasts.
- Primary owner for the supplier relationship; drives supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management in accordance with the commodity strategy.
- Drives global supply base consolidation analysis, planning, and implementation.
- Conducts and processes quote requests, including:
- Coordinating clarifications with engineering
- Analyzing quote responses
- Conducting detailed cost analysis
- Preparing sourcing recommendations
- Leads negotiations, including final pricing, and the establishment of supply contracts or agreements.
- Coordinates with site managers to identify supply needs and conduct sourcing analysis.
- Owns communication for contract data and volumes across global teams and supply base, as appropriate.
- Drives continuous cost and performance improvements by analyzing cost drivers, processes, and specifications for improvement opportunities.
- Leverages supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.
- Initiates and maintains internal and external communications regarding sourcing, pricing, and demand for materials.
- Performs other tasks, as required.
Requirements
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of five years of commodity purchasing experience.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Excellent knowledge of business mathematics.
- Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs.
