Senior Glazing Project Manager

About the role

A pivotal team member overseeing and coordinating glazing projects—primarily curtain walls, window walls, storefronts, and metal panels—from design through completion, ensuring successful delivery within defined timeframes and cost parameters.

Responsibilities

• Administer curtain-wall projects for high-rise buildings from pre-construction budgeting and scheduling through procurement, shop-drawing coordination, construction, turnover, and contract closeout.
• Coordinate the shop-drawing and submittal process by collaborating with architects, engineers, drafters, and factory personnel; attend design meetings to establish a solid project foundation.
• Obtain current structural drawings from the general contractor and interface drawings from other trades for site use.
• Establish schedules of values for projects; assist with monthly requisitions, change orders, and other project accounting duties.
• Develop project schedules based on client requirements, factual durations, and lead times.
• Coordinate material release for fabrication in alignment with the project schedule.
• Provide project design managers with details and sketches for non-compliant conditions, including structural drawings and those from other trades interfacing with the curtain wall.
• Obtain construction permits; follow job safety and insurance programs; ensure the project complies with all codes and requirements.
• Oversee and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• General knowledge of the construction industry and its standard practices (preferred).
• Knowledge of the curtain-wall industry (a plus).
