About the role

As a Senior GIS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing geospatial solutions to support organizational objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data, create maps, and develop reports to inform decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain geospatial databases and models using GIS software
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define requirements and scope projects
• Conduct spatial analysis and create maps to support decision-making
• Train and mentor junior GIS specialists on best practices and new technologies
• Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS
• Proficiency in ArcGIS and other relevant GIS software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Experience with data management and database design
• Knowledge of remote sensing and image processing techniques
• Experience with web mapping applications and APIs
• Understanding of geographic principles and cartographic design

Skills

• Advanced proficiency in GIS software
• Strong understanding of spatial analysis and modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Experience with data visualization tools

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $70,000 per year.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
