About the role
As a Senior GIS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing geospatial solutions to support organizational objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data, create maps, and develop reports to inform decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases and models using GIS software
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define requirements and scope projects
- Conduct spatial analysis and create maps to support decision-making
- Train and mentor junior GIS specialists on best practices and new technologies
- Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and methodologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and other relevant GIS software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Experience with data management and database design
- Knowledge of remote sensing and image processing techniques
- Experience with web mapping applications and APIs
- Understanding of geographic principles and cartographic design
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software
- Strong understanding of spatial analysis and modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience with data visualization tools

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $70,000 per year.
Schedule
This position is full-time and works Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
