Role/Responsibilities
- Oversight of Junior Specialist
- Triage GIS projects and determine when additional support is needed
- Attend STOC and TM&S operational meetings to observe workflows and identify GIS opportunities
- Gather requirements, clarify requests, and translate operational challenges into GIS tasks
- Develop, update, and maintain GIS applications, dashboards, maps, and data layers
- Troubleshoot user issues and provide GIS guidance to non-GIS staff
- Monitor incoming STOC requests, manage and prioritize project tasks, and serve as the primary liaison between the GIS Unit and TSMO
- Continue to learn the operational environment to anticipate needs and recommend solutions
- Support situational awareness during weather events or emergencies by producing on-the-fly maps and collaborating with operators
