Senior Geotechnical Field Technician

About the role

Geo-Technology Associates (GTA) office in Quakertown, PA is seeking experienced candidates for a Senior Geotechnical Field Technician position. In this position, you will provide a wide range of observation and testing services for geotechnical and environmental development projects for a diverse client base in the private and public sectors. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and testing the moisture and density of soils using a nuclear density testing gauge
• Testing of concrete, asphalt and other materials
• Observe and document construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications
• Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work being performed

Requirements

• Reliable vehicle, good driving record and valid driver's license
• Physical capability to carry equipment/samples >50 lbs on uneven ground
• High school diploma/GED with good writing and math skills
• Ability and willingness to work almost entirely outdoors, perform extensive fieldwork and travel significant distances to project sites
• Overtime may be required, depending on the project

Qualifications

• Roadway construction experience (desired not required)
• Possess one or more of the following current certifications (desired not required): NICET, ACI, APNGA, NETTCP, ICC, FPO

Pay

• GTA will reimburse you for mileage and tolls
• Overtime paid at "time and a half"
