About the role

GEI’s Bedford, New Hampshire office is seeking an experienced senior geotechnical engineer / project manager to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Work will primarily focus on transportation and infrastructure projects. Projects may also include buildings, dams and levees, and waterfront development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage geotechnical engineering analyses and design.
  • Manage projects including budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Manage field explorations and construction activities.
  • Cookordinate geotechnical laboratory testing and interpret results.
  • Cookordinate preparation of reports and construction specifications.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development activities.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate with clients.
  • Train and mentor staff.
  • Cookoperate with GEI staff and clients across various offices, regions, and disciplines.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering. M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in NH or ability to obtain within in 3 months.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Geostudio, Lpile, and common geotechnical software.
  • Able to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
  • Able to visit construction sites without restrictions.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Civil Engineering. An M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A professional engineer license in NH or the ability to obtain one within 3 months.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Geostudio, Lpile, and other relevant geotechnical software.
  • The ability to travel and visit construction sites.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license.
