About the role
GEI’s Bedford, New Hampshire office is seeking an experienced senior geotechnical engineer / project manager to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Work will primarily focus on transportation and infrastructure projects. Projects may also include buildings, dams and levees, and waterfront development.
Responsibilities
- Perform and manage geotechnical engineering analyses and design.
- Manage projects including budget, schedule, and quality.
- Manage field explorations and construction activities.
- Cookordinate geotechnical laboratory testing and interpret results.
- Cookordinate preparation of reports and construction specifications.
- Prepare proposals and participate in business development activities.
- Attend project meetings and communicate with clients.
- Train and mentor staff.
- Cookoperate with GEI staff and clients across various offices, regions, and disciplines.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering. M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- 8 or more years of experience.
- Professional Engineer licensed in NH or ability to obtain within in 3 months.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
- Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Manual.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Geostudio, Lpile, and common geotechnical software.
- Able to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
- Able to visit construction sites without restrictions.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Civil Engineering. An M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- A professional engineer license in NH or the ability to obtain one within 3 months.
