About the role

Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager. The position may be based in Kleinfelder's Central Division.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business pursuits and maintain a solid client base
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal or external clients to understand their needs
  • Manage a portfolio of projects meeting client and company requirements for safety, budget, quality and schedule
  • Safely supervise field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support
  • Mentor and manage junior staff and project level geotechnical professionals through project performance
  • Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis
  • Carefully coordinate tasks and manage medium to large size multi-disciplined projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff
  • Prepare or review designs, reports and calculations on complex projects
  • Strong analytical skills are required in areas including: soil and rock classification, seismic evaluations, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, construction support, and soil improvement techniques
  • Pipeline, power transmission, Solar experience are a plus

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of related experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • A positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • Experience: 10-15 years of related experience

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills in areas including: soil and rock classification, seismic evaluations, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, construction support, and soil improvement techniques
  • Pipeline, power transmission, Solar experience are a plus
