Senior General Ledgers Accountant
About the role
We are seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet. This position will report to the Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting and will interact closely with the Accounting Department, Finance and Operations.
Responsibilities
- Produce the monthly/quarterly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders including equity owners.
- Review and document the tie out and underlying support.
- Prepare the consolidated and subsidiary cash flow statements.
- Prepare reports as required under debt agreement.
- Prepare all banking transactions, payments, deposits and related journal entries.
- Own the month-end close processes for recording labor cost of goods sold.
- Maintain deferred cost of goods sold analyses including preparation and maintenance of amortization and accretion schedules and related journal entries.
- Aid with eCommerce-related analysis and journal entries.
- Use strong Excel skills to create assigned journal entries in Netsuite and ensure adherence to the monthly close calendar.
- Maintain various account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency of assigned general ledgers accounts.
- Contribute to our monthly flux analysis & provide variance analysis for certain expense accounts.
- Document current processes as needed and provide suggestions for process improvement.
- Foster good dialogue and working relationships with other accounting and finance areas as well as other parts of the organization served by these functions.
- Organize and respond to annual audit requests by external auditors.
- Prepare and participate in certain financial reports and footnote disclosures for annual audit.
- Aid Technical Accounting area and accounting team with various projects and other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, which can be a combination of public accounting and industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Ability to research various accounting issues.
- Advanced system skills including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and highly effective planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to work effectively cross functionally.
Qualifications
- Bonus Points: Experience working with NetSuite. Experience with technical accounting research and application of guidance to respective areas of responsibility. Cash and banking expertise. Experience working with utility companies and/or in the technology industry.

Pay
Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000 USD + bonus

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
