How You Will Make An Impact

ThredUp is looking for a technically savvy, detail-oriented Senior GL Accountant who brings strong accounting fundamentals and a genuine drive to use AI and automation to make Finance faster and smarter. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will own core GL responsibilities — journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and close, while actively identifying and leading opportunities to automate manual processes and improve how our team works. To thrive here, you’ll need a solid GL accounting foundation and an automation-first mindset — someone who finishes a manual process and immediately asks how to eliminate it. If you’re already experimenting with AI tools in your day-to-day work and can speak to concrete ways you’ve used them to save time, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3+ years of relevant experience, with a blend of public accounting and/or general ledger accounting required
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, with a particular interest in technical areas such as: ASU 350-40 Internal use software, ASU 360 Property, Plant and Equipment
• Experience in e-commerce or retail industry is a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or CPA candidacy strongly preferred
• Proficiency in accounting and business systems, particularly NetSuite and Coupa
• Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IFERROR, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted workflows or automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar), with a drive to apply them to real accounting problems
• Self-starter with excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Demonstrated curiosity and drive for continuous process improvement; ability to innovate and simplify complex workflows
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage projects effectively

At ThredUp, Your Base Pay Is One Part Of Your Total Compensation Package

This role pays between $135,000 and $150,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
