Responsibilities

  • Own assigned areas of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with internal control and audit standards
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by completing assigned responsibilities accurately and on schedule and proactively resolving outstanding items
  • Analyze and record recurring and nonroutine transactions, including debt, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and foreign currency impacts
  • Perform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate unusual or unexpected activity, and clearly document conclusions
  • Support NAVEX’s technical accounting activities by researching US GAAP guidance, preparing accounting analyses and memos, and assisting with implementation of new accounting standards
  • Execute key internal controls, maintain appropriate supporting documentation, and identify opportunities to strengthen the control environment
  • Coordinate with external auditors by preparing requested documentation, responding to inquiries, and helping drive the audit process to timely completion
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase consistency, reduce manual work, and enhance the efficiency of our close process
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Tax, Facilities and other teams to achieve business goals
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to other accounting team members while serving as a reliable resource on US GAAP and NAVEX accounting policies
  • Use available technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools, responsibly to improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of accounting processes

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry (SaaS or software company preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close procedures
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA eligible is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with a large ERP system; NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to own accounting processes from start to finish, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly and collaborate across departments

Pay

The starting pay for this role is $85,000 with a 5% MBO.
