Senior Fund Accountant - Private Equity

Essential Job Functions

• Review calculations of investor cash flow activity including capital call and distribution notices
• Track daily cash activity, including setting up wire payments and daily cash projections
• Avoidance of management and performance fees
• Avoidance of assistance in the review of the quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements in accordance with GAAP / IFRS
• Avoidance of assistance in the review of quarterly performance reporting
• Avoidance of review of workpapers and supporting documentation for the annual financial statement audit
• Avoidance of review of partner allocations and capital account statements
• Avoidance of support of the investment team in the closing of transactions, including responding to information requests, review of allocations, review of reporting requirements and other support and analysis as needed
• Avoidance of coordination with various fund administrators and delivery of required reporting
• Avoidance of understanding partnership agreements and interpreting reporting requirements and partner economics
• Avoidance of correspondence with Corporate Accounting / General Partners regarding accounting/reporting questions, or comments
• Avoidance of reviewing distribution waterfalls and carried interest
• Avoidance of responding to investor requests in a professional and timely manner
• Avoidance of assisting tax department with Fund and investor K-1s review and various tax payments

Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• Must possess a four-year college degree with a major in accounting
• Two to four years of private equity partnership or real estate fund accounting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience with Real Estate accounting, Investment Company Accounting and ASC 820 (FAS 157)
• Must be able to work independently, but contribute in a team-oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
