Senior Frontend / Architect (React / Next.js / SSR)

Travoom is currently paused as we focus entirely on building OleOle — a football-focused social network, messaging platform, and sports super app designed for the world’s biggest sport. At the same time, oleolesport.com continues to operate as our curated football travel and hospitality marketplace, offering premium fan experiences around the biggest matches and tournaments in the world. Both platforms are strategically connected: OleOle is the fan engagement, social, messaging, and content platform, while oleolesport.com is the commerce and travel experiences platform. Together, they create a complete football ecosystem for fans globally.

OleOle is building a next-generation football platform combining social networking, microblogging, messaging, mobile calls, TikTok-style short-form video, live scores, AI-powered football history, and real-time global fan engagement. We believe football deserves its own dedicated platform — not a small section buried inside general-purpose social networks. With over 3 billion fans globally, football lacks a true digital home, and OleOle is designed to become that platform.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to help architect and build core user-facing experiences across web and mobile platforms. This role focuses on ownership of major frontend systems, strong architectural decisions, and shaping the long-term direction of the platform. You will work closely with backend engineers, product leadership, and design teams to build high-performance, real-time consumer experiences for football fans globally.

Core areas you may own include:

• Social feeds and microblogging experiences
• Real-time messaging and notification systems
• TikTok-style video interfaces and engagement flows
• Live score and match interaction experiences
• Football history and SEO-driven content systems
• Shared component systems and frontend infrastructure
• Real-time data rendering and state management
• Mobile-first responsive experiences across web and native applications

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable frontend systems across web and mobile
• Build reusable, maintainable UI components and frontend infrastructure
• Develop high-performance real-time user experiences
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers on APIs, event systems, and real-time workflows
• Optimize rendering performance, responsiveness, and frontend scalability
• Contribute to frontend architecture, standards, and engineering direction
• Help establish long-term frontend engineering culture and technical quality

Requirements

• 7–12+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience
• Strong experience building complex consumer-facing products at scale
• Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture and performance optimization
• Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling
• Experience building real-time applications, feeds, messaging systems, or high-engagement products
• Strong understanding of responsive design, frontend state management, and rendering performance
• Experience collaborating closely with product, design, and backend engineering teams
• Ability to operate independently with high ownership and minimal hand-holding
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to balance speed with long-term maintainability

Qualifications

Your background should include:

• 7–12+ years of professional frontend or full-stack engineering experience building consumer-facing applications at scale
• Deep expertise with modern JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystems, including React and modern frontend architecture patterns
• Strong experience building complex, real-time user interfaces such as social feeds, messaging systems, live sports experiences, or video-heavy consumer applications
• Strong experience with React ecosystem tooling including Hooks, Context API, Zustand, Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks
• Deep understanding of SSR, frontend performance optimization, rendering strategies, hydration, caching, and SEO-focused frontend architecture
• Experience integrating frontend systems with high-performance backend services using REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures
• Experience collaborating with backend teams operating strongly typed systems such as Rust, Go, or similar infrastructure-focused environments
• Strong understanding of frontend scalability, state management, component architecture, and reusable design systems
• Experience building responsive, mobile-first applications across web and native mobile environments
• Strong experience with modern frontend tooling and engineering workflows (Vite, Webpack, Turbopack, Storybook, Playwright, Cypress, GitHub CI/CD)
• Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, and usability best practices (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, WCAG)
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across engineering, product, and design teams
• Comfortable operating independently with high ownership and minimal hand-holding

• Messaging & Real-Time Interaction Systems: Experience building chat systems, presence systems, WebSocket-driven interfaces, or communication products
• Video & Media Experiences: Experience building video-heavy interfaces, creator tools, media feeds, or TikTok-style interaction experiences
• SEO & Football History Infrastructure: Experience building SSR-driven platforms, large-scale content rendering systems, or SEO-focused frontend architecture

Pay

This role is currently structured as deferred compensation. All current team members are working under the same structure while the company secures new funding. Compensation is intended to convert into a normalized salary structure post-funding, in addition to founding-level equity ownership, long-term token participation, and significant influence over product and technical direction.
