Senior FPGA Designer

About the role

The Work Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced FPGA Designer to join our Mission Systems team. In this role, you will play a key part in the development of Advanced Processing systems and subsystems, supporting all aspects of hardware development from requirements derivation through product integration. You’ll lead efforts to ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work, ensuring that project deliverables meet cost and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

• Supporting overall organizational process compliance, including management of the FPGA Development Process.
• FPGA development activities and providing technical guidance.
• Ensuring the technical integrity and completeness of deliverables.
• Managing customer interfaces and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Leveraging Digital Transformation tools to enhance development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years or more of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Experience with designing / developing / integrating FPGA subsystems.
• Experience with process reviews, audits and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Synopsys Synplify).
• Proficiency with HDL simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools.
• Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setups and test equipment (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers).
• Prior involvement in FAA or EASA certification audits.
• Experience with version control systems and configuration management.

• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving mindset.

• Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
• Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
