Surface Transportation acts as the conveyor belt for the entire Amazon supply chain. As a Senior Financial Analyst in Transportation Finance, you will have high visibility and impact on the long-term strategy of the business. The role requires strong partnerships with Operations, Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams, and offers career growth opportunities across Amazon, including senior roles, project management, and leadership positions.

You will deep-dive into business input drivers, analyze complex data, and use insights to influence decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, demonstrates strong financial modeling and statistical analysis skills, and excels in verbal and written communication. This role involves orchestrating a large-scale system to deliver cost-effective and safe solutions for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Loaded Drive Time analysis and assess its financial impact.
  • Track the implementation of Loaded Drive Time strategy and guide updates during each planning cycle.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles, including narrative development for strategy and action plans.
  • Conduct Trade-Off Analysis among Loaded Drive Time, TPA, and Supply Mix.
  • Analyze cost-out initiatives and support business leaders in effective execution.
  • Foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions with backbone while practicing "disagree and commit."
  • Collaborate with business partners at all levels to understand financial analysis and reporting requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Execute regular weekly and monthly close, reporting, and analysis tasks.
  • Improve and create new measures for business effectiveness using large-scale data mining tools.
  • Identify high-priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 4+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience.
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
  • 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
  • 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role (e.g., engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Advanced experience with SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
  • Experience as a Lean Sensei or as a Quality Assurance Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Pay

USA, TX, Irving - $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually

USA, WA, Bellevue - $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
