About the role
This role owns Corporate Treasury's analytics-based cash forecasting process, using historical cash flows, advanced analytics, and business insights to generate reliable global short- and long-term forecasts. The analyst will provide technical expertise, deliver data-driven recommendations to management, and partner with business units, legal entities, Regional Treasury Centers, and cross-functional teams to strengthen global liquidity planning and strategic Treasury decision-making.
What You Will Do
- Own Caterpillar's global cash forecasting process, using analytics, historical cash flows, and business insights to produce reliable short- and long-term forecasts.
- Manage and enhance the analytics-based forecasting model, using Python, SQL, and relational databases to execute monthly forecasting processes, ensure data quality, and maintain the tool's pipelines, controls, dashboards, documentation, and supporting technology.
- Maintain the quality and completeness of forecast data, investigate data issues, and ensure the model is ready for monthly forecast production.
- Analyze actual cash flows against forecasts, explain key variances and business trends, and recommend forecast adjustments when appropriate.
- Present the global cash forecast and key insights to senior leadership, clearly explaining complex results and influencing forward-looking messaging that support enterprise liquidity decisions.
- Partner with the analytics teams to improve forecast performance through model testing, scenario analysis, and continuous refinement.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, regional, and business unit teams to support foreign currency exposures, funding strategies, capital deployment decisions, intercompany loan planning, and repatriation planning.
- Lead strategic process improvements that strengthen forecasting accuracy, efficiency, controls, and usability.
- Participate in the Finance Leadership Development Program by actively engaging in mentorship, leadership development, and enterprise learning opportunities designed to broaden business acumen and accelerate professional growth.
What You Have
- Technical and Analytical Expertise: Hands-on experience using Python, SQL, relational databases, and data analytics to manage recurring processes, analyze financial information, and translate data into business insights.
- Accuracy and Ownership: Strong attention to detail, commitment to data quality, and ability to independently own processes and deliver precise, reliable results.
- Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Ability to evaluate complex issues, identify practical solutions, and improve processes, controls, and analytical tools.
- Communication and Influence: Ability to simplify complex financial and technical concepts, present clear recommendations to senior leaders, and influence decisions through effective communication.
- Collaboration and Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across Treasury, Tax, regional, business, and technical teams to achieve shared outcomes.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Data Analytics, or a related field; relevant corporate finance or Treasury experience is preferred.

Pay
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
Schedule
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
