Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) plays a crucial role in capturing and reporting financial data. This individual focuses on financial planning, both short-term and long-term, to measure and forecast future business performance. The role involves discovering cost-saving opportunities and ensuring high levels of reporting integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create the Annual Financial Plan (Operating, Financial and Capital Budgets)
- Provide financial analysis, recommendations, and decision-making support to the executive staff
- Model the financial impacts of business decisions and present options to business leaders
- Drive process and cost efficiencies for business operations
- Affiliate in maintaining the integrity and completeness of the Company’s data warehouse
- Affiliate with the month-end close process (mainly through variance analysis)
- Perform monthly Actual vs. Budget variance analysis and discuss with department managers
- Manage the Company’s balanced scorecard (daily, weekly and monthly operational metrics)
- Review monthly financial statements for each assigned business unit, identifying key trends, variances, and areas of improved performance
- Proactively provide insightful, actionable, and accurate financial reporting analysis to key business owners
- Build strong partnerships with key internal customers and cross-functional teams
- Identify, evaluate, and compare multiple projects by their ROI% and track progress
- Perform other various ad-hoc analysis as requested by management
- Reports to the Controller
Skills and Experience Required
- Master’s Degree in Finance or business; CPA preferred
- 5-7+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS Access, etc.)
- A background with distribution organizations is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required
- Experience with One Stream and CRM software a plus
- Very strong data mining skills
