About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) Finance Manager in managing an assigned portfolio of approximately 115 OSU funds totaling $16 million annually.
Responsibilities
- Implements day-to-day administration and analysis of assigned funds
- Performs monthly financial reconciliations and account analysis
- Develops Business Plans for new Faculty recruits and large programs
- Presents monthly reports and provides financial statements to senior staff and faculty
- Works cross-functionally with Faculty and Staff across 12 University Colleges and OSU ancillary services
- Completes monthly reconciliation of payroll transactions and HR adjustments
- Manages budgeted HR appointments and staff/students on different research funds and grants
- Processes, reviews, and approves financial functions including journals, transfers, deposits, payroll, procurement, and accounts payable
- Reviews OSUCCC Contracts, Letters of Offer, and MOUs for appropriate financial resources
- Monitors fund balances and alerts Senior Financial Analyst of potential deficits or issues
- Maintains fiscal records and provides training to Fiscal Associates
- Participates in year-end account closing activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field
- 4 years of financial management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of general ledger
- Strong analytical skills, computer proficiency, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Successful completion of a background check
- Ability to work independently and take initiative for process improvement
- Professionalism, teamwork, and strong communication skills
