Senior Finance Manager (US) - FP&A

About the Role
The US Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team helps the bank make informed financial decisions and plan for future growth. The team is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and financial reporting across the organization. By turning financial data into clear insights, FP&A helps leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, manage risks, and make decisions that support the bank’s goals.
The Senior Finance Manager provides a range of strategic Finance advice, analysis, and support for key business areas/portfolios as assigned. This role proactively manages senior relationships to provide seasoned and deep business insights, decision support, and guidance while working closely with various stakeholders and team members.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business partners to gain a deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives to contribute to the strategic direction of the respective business and/or enterprise.
- Formulate relevant and meaningful data analysis through comprehensive data visualization tools, profiling tools, segmentation, and advanced modeling and analytics.
- Lead the interpretation of complex business issues, generate multifaceted insights, and identify opportunities to drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs.
- Effectively communicate relevant and meaningful recommendations on finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Line of Business (LOB) Finance area supported and provide guidance, advice, and recommendations to support dealings with internal/external partners.
- Identify and develop key business performance measures or metrics for the area and ensure benchmark/best practice information is shared with appropriate parties.
- Maximize shareholder value by developing key strategies/tactics for the unit and conducting business and/or financial analysis to support key business decisions.
- Leverage advanced data and analytics to provide business leaders with comprehensive information for strategic decision support.
- Develop and/or assess significant business cases/new initiatives, applying expertise to ensure criteria for the area are met (e.g., taxation, accounting practices, forecasted rates of return).
- Proactively partner with and support the business to develop financial, operational, or organizational strategy for the organization.
- Ensure alignment between business segment and enterprise goals/thresholds.
- Provide strategic insights and propose solutions that deliver superior risk-adjusted profitability for supported organizations.
- Create "story-telling" presentations on business performance, including competitive analysis.
- Act as a catalyst in driving forward initiatives critical to delivering strategy.
- Develop and implement growth strategies.
- Partner with the business to develop financial plans and forecasts.
- Apply management-level focus to ensure respective programs/policies/practices are well-managed and meet business needs.
- Lead the development/implementation of new financial models, operating service standards, methodologies, frameworks, and paradigms.
- Synthesize complex and vast amounts of information and translate them into actionable insights and strategy.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, acting as custodians of cost.
- Ensure business operations comply with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g., financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals).
- Participate in cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert to identify risk and provide guidance for complex situations.
- Conduct internal and external research projects and support the development/delivery of presentations/communications to management or broader audiences.
- Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level, using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and assess effectiveness.
- Monitor service, productivity, and efficiency levels within the function and implement continuous process/performance improvements.
- Identify, recommend, and support the implementation of actions/remediation plans to address performance, risk, or governance issues.
- Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate, and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
- Maintain a culture of risk-based management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.

Requirements
- Undergraduate degree.
- 10+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Financial designation (e.g., CPA) preferred.
- Legal entity and accounting experience.
- Experience with process improvement.
- FP&A experience.
- Management reporting and strong executive communication skills.
Pay
Base pay range: $115,440 - $173,160 USD. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.
