Senior Finance Associate - Partner Investments
About the role
Bain Capital is one of the world’s leading private investment firms, with approximately $215 billion of assets under management. The Bain Capital Partner Services Group provides Partners with confidential, professional services, and the Senior Associate will be involved in all finance and operational aspects of those functions with a focus on treasury operations, monthly/quarterly reporting, financial reporting, and the yearly tax process.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of and review of financial statements (U.S. GAAP), capital statements, and all related supporting schedules of accounts including all investment types and complex structures.
- Assist with external auditors annual financial statement audits.
- Management of the treasury function, including daily cash.
- Assist with preparation and review of tax workpapers for use by external tax preparers.
- Preparation and oversight of all general and personalized reporting summaries including liquidity term reporting, investor statements and other ad hoc reporting.
- Ability to evaluate processes end to end and leverage technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
- Manage and supervise staff effectively and efficiently.
- Collaboration with team members on new initiatives and services.
Requirements
- 2+ years accounting or finance experience in the financial service industry with a solid understanding of investments preferable
- Proficiency with AI tools and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
- Creative problem-solving skills and sound judgment, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership of decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with all levels and other finance groups
- Capability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Management is desired.
Compensation
Expected Annual Base Salary $95,000 – 110,000. Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
