Senior Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

Responsibilities

• Utilize, read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods to observe site activities, perform tasks and give the interpretation of results
• Attend project meetings alone, without supervision, and communicate effectively with client and project teams

Requirements

• Must possess at least one of the following certifications: ACI: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1; TXAPA Certifications (Level 1B HMA Roadway Specialist, Level 1A HMA Plant Production Specialist, etc.)
• ICC: Soils, Concrete, Masonry, Commercial Building Inspector, Spray-applied Fireproofing; NICET II (geotechnical or construction, or construction material testing or soils); AWCI EIFS inspector; UL or FM firestop examination
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Able to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Able to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Able to kneel and squat occasionally
• Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Able to climb occasionally

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
