Senior Field Technician

What You'll Do
- Perform field sampling, testing, and inspection of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete on active construction sites
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and testing requirements
- Accurately collect, document, and report field data and daily construction quantities
- Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and internal team members
- Maintain assigned vehicles, testing equipment, and safety standards
- Follow all DLZ health, safety, and public safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of materials testing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Required certifications/training: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level I, Nuclear Densometer Safety Training, MDOT Density Control Certification
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass background check and drug testing (including marijuana)
- Safety training: OSHA 10 Hour or MUST Safety certification
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level II, MDOT Aggregate Sampling and/or Inspection Certification (Level I), MDOT HMA Sampling Certification
- Experience with Metafield or similar reporting software
- Willingness to travel throughout Michigan and the tri-state area
- Experience with Floor Flatness testing
