Senior Field Technician

What You'll Do

• Perform field sampling, testing, and inspection of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete on active construction sites
• Interpret project plans, specifications, and testing requirements
• Accurately collect, document, and report field data and daily construction quantities
• Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and internal team members
• Maintain assigned vehicles, testing equipment, and safety standards
• Follow all DLZ health, safety, and public safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of materials testing experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Required certifications/training: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level I, Nuclear Densometer Safety Training, MDOT Density Control Certification
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass background check and drug testing (including marijuana)
• Safety training: OSHA 10 Hour or MUST Safety certification
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level II, MDOT Aggregate Sampling and/or Inspection Certification (Level I), MDOT HMA Sampling Certification
• Experience with Metafield or similar reporting software
• Willingness to travel throughout Michigan and the tri-state area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Floor Flatness testing
