Our mission is to excel in the electrical maintenance industry by delivering quality workmanship and superior customer service. We are looking for proactive, experienced personnel to join our growing team as a Senior Field Service Technician in Washington.

About the Role

Lead Field Service Technicians are responsible for providing preventative maintenance, warranty, and repair services on electrical systems at customer locations. This position involves 75% travel, primarily within Washington. Most assignments last 1-3 weeks, with no single location exceeding 4 weeks. The role offers significant travel perks, scheduling flexibility, and vacation options. This is not a standard 9-5/40-hour work week.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate and oversee all onsite work activity
  • Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA), lockout, and test sheet reviews
  • Assist with high-level technical tasks, including troubleshooting using wiring diagrams or electrical prints
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to technicians with lesser skill sets
  • Review job scopes and assign crews
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding issues found and onsite progress

Requirements

We favor applicants with at least 2 years of experience in fields involving 480V power, reading prints, electrical theory, power distribution, electrical testing, or power generation. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Insulation resistance testing with Megger
  • DLRO, Secondary Injection, and Primary Injection tests
  • Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) testing
  • Power Factor (Doble) testing on transformers
  • Hi-Pot testing on medium-voltage breakers and contactors
  • Cable testing
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass drug tests and background checks for secure facilities
  • Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs, carry equipment, kneel, climb, and walk long distances
  • Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Excel/Word, Adobe Reader, Dropbox)
  • Familiarity with hand tools
  • Leadership experience

Qualifications

We prefer candidates with electrical experience and strong leadership skills. Ideal qualifications include:

  • Military experience
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Master Electrician’s License
  • NETA Certificate (Level 2 or higher)
  • NICET Certificate (Level 2 or higher)
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician certification
  • Experience as a Generator Mechanic, Naval Nuclear Power Technician, or Power Generating Station Technician
  • Army Prime Power School training
  • Familiarity with multiple types of electrical testing equipment and procedures

Pay

$40.00–$65.00 per hour

Schedule

  • Full-time (40+ hours per week)
  • 8–12 hour shifts
