Senior Field Service Technician: Reno Nevada
Established in 2002, PDM provides electrical maintenance and testing services across the United States. We are looking for proactive, experienced personnel to join our growing team in Reno, Nevada.
About the Role
As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will lead field service operations, providing preventative maintenance, warranty, and repair services on electrical systems at customer locations. This position involves 25% travel, primarily within Reno, Nevada, with assignments typically lasting 1–3 weeks (never exceeding 4 weeks). You will oversee onsite work, delegate tasks, and ensure safety and efficiency while working flexible hours that may include overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Delegate and oversee all onsite work activity
- Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA), lockout, and test sheet reviews
- Assist team members with high-level technical tasks, including troubleshooting using wiring diagrams or electrical prints
- Provide on-the-job training (OJT) for technicians with lesser skill sets
- Review job scopes and assign crews
- Maintain communication with customers regarding issues and progress
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a field involving 480V power, reading prints, electrical theory, power distribution, electrical testing, or power generation
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug tests and background checks for secure facilities
- Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs, carry equipment, kneel, climb, and walk long distances
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Excel/Word, Adobe Reader, Dropbox)
- Familiarity with hand tools and electrical testing equipment
- Leadership experience and strong work ethic
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have one or more of the following:
- Military experience
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
- Master Electrician’s License
- NETA Certificate (Level 2 or higher)
- NICET Certificate (Level 2 or higher)
- Journeyman or Master Electrician certification
- Generator Mechanic experience
- Naval Nuclear Power Training
- Manufacturing or Data Facility Maintenance Technician experience
- Power Generating Station Technician experience
- Army Prime Power School Training
Proficiency in the following tests is a plus:
- Insulation resistance test with Megger
- DLRO Test
- Secondary Injection Test
- Primary Injection Test
- TTR Test on Transformers
- Power Factor (Doble) test on transformers
- Hi-Pot Test on MV breakers and contactors
- Cable Testing

Pay
$40.00–$65.00 per hour
Schedule
- Full-time (40+ hours per week)
- 8–12 hour shifts
