Senior Facultative Underwriter

About the role

As the Property Facultative Automatic Senior Underwriter for AXA XL Reinsurance North America, you will underwrite and maintain profitable new and renewal business, exercising self-supported judgment based on comprehension of policy form terms, conditions, and coverage intent. You will increase market share and visibility, solidify our leadership position, and maximize group efficiency while providing quality service to internal and external customers.

You will report to the Product Leader/Division Manager for Property Facultative Reinsurance — North America.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and produce automatic facility accounts to achieve individual and division profitability and premium line with annual budgeted targets.
• Underwrite terms, conditions, and pricing for new and renewal automatic facility business by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing account information.
• Contribute to consistent satisfactory internal/external audit results by adhering to underwriting, regulatory, and rating guidelines.
• Manage internal AXA XL relationships and communicate effectively with underwriting, actuarial, legal, underwriting service, and claims staff to ensure proper handling of accounts.
• Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing endorsement requests and special acceptances to provide customer service to customers and brokers.
• Participate in strategic planning and implementation of business development activities, including identifying key opportunities, completing action plans, and traveling for customer/broker visits as needed.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in the Reinsurance industry, with an emphasis on Programs, Facultative Facilities, Commercial Property Treaty, or Automatic Facility Reinsurance.
• Extensive experience with policy and contract wording, actuarial pricing models, and natural catastrophe modeling.
• Proficiency in policy/contract wording, policy rating, and the use of policy rating systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math aptitude and outstanding PC skills.
• Background in Property and Inland Marine Underwriting.

Pay

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD $107,600–$209,100. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
