Senior Facultative Underwriter
About the Role
As the Property Facultative Automatic Senior Underwriter for AXA XL Reinsurance North America, you will underwrite and maintain profitable new and renewal business, exercising self-supported judgment based on comprehension of policy form terms, conditions, and coverage intent. You will increase market share and visibility, solidify AXA XL’s position as a market leader, and maximize group efficiency while providing quality service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and produce automatic facility accounts to achieve individual and division profitability and premium targets aligned with annual budgets.
- Establish pricing and underwrite terms and conditions for new and renewal automatic facility business by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing account information.
- Adhere to underwriting, regulatory, and rating guidelines to ensure consistent and satisfactory internal/external audit results.
- Manage internal AXA XL relationships and communicate effectively with underwriting, actuarial, legal, underwriting service, and claims teams to ensure proper account handling.
- Maintain and service a book of business by analyzing endorsement requests and special acceptances to provide customer service to clients and brokers.
- Participate in strategic planning and business development activities, including identifying key opportunities, implementing action plans, and conducting customer/broker visits as needed.
You will report to the Product Leader/Division Manager for Property Facultative Reinsurance – North America.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in the Reinsurance industry, with an emphasis on Programs, Facultative Facilities, Commercial Property Treaty, or Automatic Facility Reinsurance.
- Extensive experience with policy and contract wording, actuarial pricing models, and natural catastrophe modeling.
- Proficiency in policy/contract wording, policy rating, and the use of policy rating systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong math aptitude and outstanding PC skills.
- Background in Property and Inland Marine Underwriting.

Pay
The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD $107,600–$209,100. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
