Responsibilities

  • Supervise custodial staff by using both verbal and written instructions in compliance with guidelines set forth by CHN, and its governing body.
  • Ensure that custodial services meet the needs of the department, the network, and establish guidelines by scheduling work activities and adjusting workloads to compensate for scheduled and unscheduled absences, changing priorities.
  • Ensure the quality of service meets established guidelines by inspecting work performed and directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary.
  • Develop an effective team by instructing all in the proper methods and use of materials/ equipment for safe and efficient work performance.
  • Regularly assess individual performances to meet established standards, provide performance evaluations on supervised staff.
  • Aid in the work needed to keep vehicles, garages, central office, clinics, and satellite offices in compliance with regulations of funding sources, as well as, local, state, and federal code requirements, including OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure personnel has the equipment and supplies necessary to perform all functions of their respective job.
  • Complete request forms for replacement items, maintain par levels and store all supplies safely and in a secure location.
  • Aid in the hiring of qualified employees by participating in the interview process and making recommendations regarding the employment of applicants.
  • Assist in overseeing outside contractors.
  • Provide training to new and existing employees.
  • Collectively evaluate new supplies and equipment by conducting tests and make recommendations on the appropriateness of use.
  • Advise immediate supervisor on all building conditions, conducting regular inspections and reporting results with particular emphasis on needed repairs.
  • Ensure that administrative records and reports regarding staff are accurate and current by reviewing/approving employee timecards or monthly timesheets and monitoring employee absences.
  • Perform daily staff duties on an emergency basis in support of the departmental mission.
  • Provide continuity of supervision and leadership by assuming the duties and responsibilities of other supervisors as required by special circumstances.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or satisfactory equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years’ related work and supervisory experience.
  • Current driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
