Key Accountabilities
- Applies senior level knowledge and background of engineering principles to natural gas facilities including, but not limited to; large scale amine treating plants, dehydration plants, compressor stations, and preferably processing plants.
- Develops, coordinates, and directs critical projects and field engineering assignments that are large and/or complex.
- Provides analysis, design, specification and cost estimates for natural gas treating/processing plants.
- Develops scope of work, manages bid process and facility design/construction.
- Optimizes existing plants by gathering operational data and working through plant simulations.
- Reviews and assesses new technology, processes, materials and equipment.
- Frames engineering/operational problems and proposes solutions.
- Makes sound engineering decisions under limited time constraints.
- Initiates or performs engineering studies, proposing solutions, or recommending alternatives.
- Prepares written procedures to facilitate construction, maintenance, pipeline integrity assessments and operation of gas transmission and gathering systems.
- Provides technical support to field on a weekly basis.
- Prepares and presents technical reports on projects.
- Counsels and assists in the development of project budgets.
- Conducts studies and analyses to assist in the resolution of engineering-related issues; will assist with developing engineering standards and practices.
- Leads or plays a key role in Continuous Improvement (CI) training and applies CI tools and methodologies to improve output of job assignments and work processes.
- Mentors and provides guidance/direction for less experienced personnel.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum)
- 6 years of related experience
Preferred
- Heavy process modeling experience preferred (ProMax)
- Experience with sour gas treating
- Heavy field-level or direct operations experience preferred
- Processing plant experience preferred
Other Qualifications
- Proficiency in computer applications applicable to specific work field/discipline including Excel, Word, Visio and Access database.
- Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings/schematics and other design documents.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
- Effective in self-management of time with a demonstrated personal commitment to work.
- Expert knowledge of design, installation, and commissioning of natural gas treating/processing plants.
