Senior Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of facility improvement projects and maintenance activities across a multi-site campus, including scope development, prioritization, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
  • Partner with stakeholders and end users to define needs, clarify requirements, and support solution development.
  • Support the department manager with program management activities, including long-range planning, stakeholder engagement, prioritization of work, and department representation on key initiatives and discussions.
  • Manage the work order lifecycle, including creation, planning, coordination, execution, documentation, and closeout in the CMMS system, while helping improve the effectiveness and consistency of work management processes.
  • Host vendors and contractors on site, coordinate work activities, and ensure adherence to site expectations, standards, and operational requirements.
  • Conduct site walks, field assessments, surveys, and investigations to define scope, identify issues, verify field conditions, and review technical information as needed to support maintenance, project, and repair activities.
  • Develop practical remediation approaches and coordinate execution through internal resources and external vendors.
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and utility-related issues and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Provide prompt response to reported issues and support effective resolution in a cGMP environment.
  • Lead or contribute to process improvement efforts related to project management, work management, and facility operations, with a focus on efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
  • Support the development, revision, and implementation of SOPs, policies, and procedures that strengthen work execution and operational consistency across the site.
  • Maintain project and work management metrics, financial tracking, and status reporting to support informed decision-making and effective prioritization of resources.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, safety expectations, and compliance requirements, while building strong working relationships and delivering high-quality service to internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 5+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
  • A post-graduate education/degree is desired, and may contribute towards the desired years of experience.
  • Has demonstrated competency within a discipline.
  • Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors.
  • Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
  • Works well with other engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment.
  • Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.
  • Has a technical background in health care, medical devices, pharmaceutical, biologics, or similar industries (preferred).
  • Has demonstrated competency with financial systems and in fiscal control.
