Key Responsibilities
Provides daily executive-level support to the School of Medicine Dean.
- Collaboration on sensitive/confidential issues regarding students/potential students/faculty
- Maintaining the dean's calendar
- Creating travel itineraries
- Drafting media communication
- Reviewing all approval requests: employment letters, hiring requests, requests for the dean as a speaker
Primary Point of Contact for the School of Medicine Dean
- Liaison to Volker campus for various matters
- Liaison to SOM Marketing Department
- Liaison to UMKC Health Sciences District
- Attending meetings with the dean (creating meeting summaries and follow-up action items)
- Participation in leadership meetings
- Point of contact for Hospital Affiliate leadership
Planning and Coordinator of SOM Events
- Holiday and staff receptions
- Visiting professor lecture series (completing appearance agreements, catering, consent to record, W-9, and marketing of events)
- Two commencement ceremonies (in collaboration with Student Affairs)
- Hospital Hill Run
SOM Communications
- Draft report for SOM to the Chancellor's Office regularly
- Prepare presentations and drafting messages issued by the dean
- Draft communication to Chancellor and Provost for miscellaneous requests
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience or its equivalent from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
- The starting salary is a minimum of $53,976 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
