Summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator I for their Structured Cabling Group. The role involves leading estimating efforts on large and complex projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring accurate project estimates.

Responsibilities

- Lead team members, including direction, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of estimators. - Lead estimating efforts on difficult projects. - Provide conceptual, detailed, and self-perform work estimates, and cost models. - Organize, research, and plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and submission. - Choose subcontractors for bidding process and determine final estimate pricing. - Provide work assignments to estimating team, ensure accurate information in final estimate. - Write and submit Requests for Information. - Maintain regular communication with team members, owners, architects, and engineers. - Ensure understanding of project scope and updates for team members and subcontractors.

Qualifications

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar field, or equivalent experience. - 6+ years of estimating experience, preferably in construction and telecom/cabling. - Proficient with building/estimating techniques and software such as WinEst, ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google Earth. - Organized and detailed with ability to manage multiple, complex projects. - Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. - Positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and excellent teamwork orientation. - Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. - Applicable mathematical skills. - Current driver’s license. - Ability to travel approximately 20%.

The base pay range for this role is $128,200-$192,300, with higher ranges for certain locations. Base pay is determined based on factors including knowledge, skills, and experience, with internal equity considerations. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
