Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Position Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct project site visits.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Lead bid reviews and support final bid submissions.
- Analyze subcontractor pricing versus self-performance opportunities.
- Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating documentation.
- Aid project teams with value engineering, change orders, and cost-related questions.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide mentorship and support to other estimating team members.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, site development, earthwork, or related construction.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods including: Excavation, Grading, Cut/fill operations, Underground utilities, Foundations, Dewatering, Equipment utilization.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Required Software Experience
- AGTEK
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred HCSS or similar heavy civil estimating software
