About the role

As a Senior Estimator at Rosendin, you will prepare and complete bid/submittal documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects. You will serve as the Lead Estimator, collaborating with other estimators, suppliers, and customers to finalize estimates. Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates from quantity take-offs and complete them to computer printout.
  • Identify key project components that may impact competitive estimates.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work.
  • Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
  • Lead personnel in preparing discipline sub-estimates for assigned bids.
  • Maintain all working documents and data to back up estimate figures.
  • Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data.
  • Prepare detailed listings of material and equipment items for estimates and obtain quotes.
  • Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes.
  • Review quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Ensure timely completion of all client-required documents.
  • Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
  • Provide the Chief Estimator with a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing before issuing the formal bid package.
  • After a successful bid, meet with Project Management to explain job scope, potential areas of attention, and other aspects for a smooth project transition.
  • Maintain files of all working documents to back up estimate figures and update the Rosendin-approved estimating program.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of other estimators.

Requirements

  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
  • Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
  • Estimate all types of projects and coordinate group work efforts.
  • Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adapting to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Interact professionally with employees at all levels, vendors, clients, and others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ estimating or relevant experience in closing construction estimates.
  • Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred.
  • Experience in CAD or 3D software preferred.
  • Qualifications may include a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Working Conditions

  • General work environment: sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
  • Work is primarily conducted indoors with varying environmental conditions (e.g., fluorescent lighting, air conditioning).
  • Noise levels are typically low to medium but can be loud on job sites.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Pay

$128,000.00 - $167,900.00 annual. The pay range reflects expected compensation for candidates meeting the specified qualifications. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, skills, and education.
