About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia seeks a dynamic individual to lead and support the development, implementation, and ongoing process of the enterprise risk management (ERM) function. This role supports the Bank and Federal Reserve System in risk assessment & monitoring, internal controls over financial reporting, and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Independently, complete risk management activities, including directing and implementing ERM strategies and operations to support adherence to the Federal Reserve System (FRS) ERM framework and BC framework.
- Support the end-to-end operations of the ERM function including identifying, assessing, prioritizing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting on enterprise-wide risks facing the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive ERM policies, standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, and organizational objectives.
- Partner with all business areas across the Bank to identify risks and monitor action plans through risk assessments, operationalize risk appetite statements, tolerances and measures to ensure they are embedded across the organization.
- Enhance the Bank's risk function by applying latest technologies and data analytics to ensure the maintenance and implementation of best-in-class risk practices.
- Foster a culture of proactive risk management across the Bank, promoting risk awareness and culture using three lines of defense approach across the Bank.
- Provide support to the Bank's Risk Management Council (RMC) in preparing risk reporting materials. These materials detail the overall health of ERM.
- Under the supervision of the ERM, you will be a necessary contact for internal and external auditors during SOX audits. Your responsibilities will include coordinating audit activities, facilitating the provision of requested documentation, and ensuring resolution of audit findings.
- Assess existing internal controls related to financial reporting processes and identify areas for enhancement. Prepare and present materials (e.g., status updates, findings overview) on control decisions and project status to executive and senior management.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent related work experience and education is required. 8+ years of progressive experience in risk management. Other certifications a plus: Risk Management Certification, Risk Management Assurance, Project Management Professional, Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Professional, or Certified Fraud Examiner.
- Knowledge: Understanding of risk management concepts, project management disciplines, internal control concepts, and business continuity practices. Meeting and facilitation skills; ability to present with both technical and non-technical audiences, and governance groups. Exhibit advanced facilitation skills and communicate well in a range of situations. Ability to partner with stakeholders to enhance value, anticipate and resolve challenges, and recognize the value of building, maintaining, and enhancing stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
- Onsite requirement: 4 days per week in the Philadelphia office.
- Occasional travel, less than 10%.
