Role and Responsibilities
- Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity
- Skilled in diagnosing and fixing high speed automated manufacturing equipment
- Automated Equipment
- Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems
- Ability to modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance or throughput
- Participate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designed
- Installation, commissioning and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspections
- Oversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projects
- Validate new product designs, equipment, and processes with engineering teams
- Analyze Production Data to find ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise quality
- Drive investigations and root cause analysis for quality issues
- Collect and analyze mechanical and electrical test data with engineering teams
Skills and Experience
- 9+ years of high capacity manufacturing environment preferred
- Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance required or equivalent relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline preferred but not required
- Experience with Automated Equipment
- Functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Equipment requirement development and specification writing
- Knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
- Knowledge of Autocad, Solidworks and MS Office suite
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Good Attendance, Initiative, responsible follow through and a willingness to help
- Must be flexible with changing shift or work schedule
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours per shift
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs
- Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
- Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
- Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)
