About the role
Rice University seeks a Senior Equal Opportunity Specialist (SEOS) with exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills to build an inclusive culture and ensure a positive, healthy working environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee others and conduct investigations pertaining to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct (Title IX), and retaliation complaints.
- Manage Rice’s restorative justice program.
- Assist in monitoring and addressing incidents/complaints and overseeing the University's response.
- Work with various departments to investigate and resolve complaints of unlawful discrimination.
- Interpret University policies and procedures, and local, state and federal rules and regulations related to EO issues.
- Compile and analyze data.
- Maintain accurate and compliant case files and databases.
- Design and deliver antidiscrimination programming for the University.
- May schedule, plan, coordinate and organize special events for EOS.
- Prepare, edit and produce publications and reports for the office.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three or more (3+) years of directly related, progressive experience in conducting sexual misconduct/Title IX, and discrimination investigations, mediation, restorative justice and other forms of dispute resolution.
- Additional related education above and beyond what is required may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Workplace Requirements
This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the hiring range is $84,234 - $92,500 annually, depending on skills and experience.
