Senior Environmental Scientist/Specialist - Restoration Crew Leader | South St. Paul, MN

Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, a Davey Company, seeks an experienced Environmental Scientist/Restoration Specialist. The position serves various clients including government, utilities, businesses, and non-profits, focusing on natural resource management and compliance.

Job Duties

• Provide services and solutions for managing natural resources and complying with policies.
• Collaborate with teams to lead and train fellow team members on field work.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding project needs and specifications.
• Inspect and assess habitats, identifying invasive species and understanding local flora and fauna.
• Develop and implement solutions tailored to client needs.
• Train and mentor team members on various aspects of ecological restoration and heavy equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in biology, botany, ecology, conservation, environmental science, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in ecological restoration, with at least 2 years leading teams of 1-4 people.
• Skills: Prescribed burn experience, S130/S190 certification, identification of invasive species, training with heavy equipment, ability to read construction plans, and strong communication and leadership skills.
• Licenses: Minnesota Department of Agriculture Certified Pesticide Applicators License.
• Training: Training with chain saws, brush saws, ATVs/UTVs, tractors, and skid steers.
• Other: Ability to work independently, driver's license, and clean driving record.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: 40-50 hours per week, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.
• Starting Hourly Wage: $22 - $27 per hour based on experience.
