Environmental Scientist/Specialist - Restoration Crew Leader | South St. Paul, MN

Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, a Davey Company, seeks an experienced Environmental Scientist/Restoration Specialist. This role serves government, utility, commercial, private, and not-for-profit clients, focusing on natural resource management and compliance.

Job Duties

• Provide services and solutions for managing natural resources and complying with policies.
• Collaborate with clients and fellow team members to develop appropriate solutions.
• Inspect and assess habitats, identifying invasive species and understanding local species characteristics.
• Train and mentor team members on all aspects of field work.
• Assist with wetland delineation and city tree inventories as needed.

Qualifications

• Minnesota Department of Agriculture Certified Pesticide Applicators License required.
• Prescribed burn experience and S130/S190 certification.
• Experience with heavy equipment, including spray rigs, backpack sprayers, augers, chain saws, mowers, etc.
• A degree in biology, botany, ecology, conservation, environmental science, or related fields.
• Three to five years of experience in ecological restoration.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability and willingness to travel.

Additional Information

• Work schedule: 40-50 hours per week, Monday-Friday with some Saturdays optional.
• Starting hourly wage: $23 - $25 per hour based on experience.
