About the role
As the Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (HSE) Manager, you will lead and optimize the Health, Safety, and Environmental function, driving efficiency in risk assessment, compliance, and incident response. This role oversees continuous improvement initiatives across all HSE platforms, delivering team leadership, HSE enablement, and cross-functional coordination. You’ll shape local HSE policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with engineering, operations, and other teams to manage risk and promote a culture of safety aligned with Rolls-Royce’s global standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and align local health and safety policies with organizational strategy to support proactive safety leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all HS&E legislation and standards, serving as the primary contact for regulatory matters and internal audits.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and maintain up-to-date emergency response processes.
- Act as a liaison between HSE and internal functions (engineering, operations, procurement, aftersales, finance) to enable effective risk management and compliance.
- Lead process optimization initiatives to standardize HSE procedures, compliance monitoring, and incident management workflows.
- Track HSE performance metrics, monitor incidents and near-misses, and establish key performance indicators to drive accountability.
- Deliver presentations to engage teams, improve HSE awareness, and promote compliance with the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
- Support global and regional HSE management with insights and recommendations for process consistency, stakeholder alignment, and business continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE); in lieu of a degree, at least 11 years’ HSE experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in leadership and management roles within the HSE function.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship (visa sponsorship is not available).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA preferred.
- Prior experience in large equipment or genset manufacturing.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in health, safety, and environmental audits.
Pay
$108,197 - $175,820 annually.
