About the Opportunity

The Senior Engineering Manager, Enterprise Fulfillment will lead the Enterprise Fulfillment engineering team responsible for the stability, scalability, and extensibility of systems supporting the shopper app experience. This role drives the technical vision and execution of engineering efforts that impact how grocery orders are fulfilled for large retailers, collaborating across technical and business teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the technical vision and strategy for the Enterprise Fulfillment team aligned with product goals.
  • Own the engineering roadmap and oversee execution to achieve key business outcomes.
  • Establish best practices for production services ensuring high reliability and scale.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of over 10 engineers, fostering ownership and technical excellence.
  • Drive recruitment efforts to attract top engineering talent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, business development, and retailer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in engineering management.
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic engineering roadmaps.
  • Experience as a hands-on technical leader at a senior or staff level.
  • Strong skills in team mentoring, performance management, and career development.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product managers and senior engineering staff.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple teams or scaling teams from early stages.
  • Background in managing mission-critical, high-availability systems.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade software systems at scale.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Go, Swift, and/or Kotlin.

Pay

Base pay range varies by location:

  • CA, NY, CT, NJ: $265,000—$279,500 USD
  • WA: $254,000—$268,000 USD
  • OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $243,000—$256,500 USD
  • All other states: $221,000—$233,000 USD

Eligible for equity grants including new hire and annual refresh grants.
